Tongue Reminders

Tongue Reminders are placed behind the lower front teeth to act as an unconscious reminder to the tongue. They aid in retraining tongue posture (the tongue should rest towards the roof of the mouth, and not be positioned forward, over the lower front teeth).

Once tongue reminders have been placed, it will take several days to get used to them. Patients can expect some discomfort for the first two days; this is very normal. Ibuprofen can be taken for the discomfort. Tongue reminders will remain in the mouth for the duration of the treatment time.
